Carrie Rountrey Ph.D.
Co-Founder & Director of Business Development
As a speech-language pathologist, Carrie has been practicing since 2001. She has worked in nearly every level of the medical system, from the home, to outpatient clinics, to inpatient rehab, to acute and intensive care. She has managed outpatient clinics and inpatient rehab programs, and has been intensely involved in staff development, teaching and training. Her doctoral research details speech and voice behaviors of those with Parkinson’s Disease and healthy controls in the home. Carrie believes that those that stay independently in their own homes for as long as possible retain more than just independence. With the right social and family support, they retain language and cognitive skills, decision making ability, friendships, and quality of life. Carrie was inspired by her mother, Cathy, to launch a business in home companionship care for persons who want to remain as independent as possible in their own homes.
