Carrie Rountrey Ph.D.

Co-Founder & Director of Business Development

As a speech-language pathologist, Carrie has been practicing since 2001. She has worked in nearly every level of the medical system, from the home, to outpatient clinics, to inpatient rehab, to acute and intensive care. She has managed outpatient clinics and inpatient rehab programs, and has been intensely involved in staff development, teaching and training. Her doctoral research details speech and voice behaviors of those with Parkinson’s Disease and healthy controls in the home. Carrie believes that those that stay independently in their own homes for as long as possible retain more than just independence. With the right social and family support, they retain language and cognitive skills, decision making ability, friendships, and quality of life. Carrie was inspired by her mother, Cathy, to launch a business in home companionship care for persons who want to remain as independent as possible in their own homes.

Compassion, Excellence, Professionalism!

Cadence Companions, LLC offers at home companionship to seniors,  with an emphasis on their unique needs. We are seeking individuals who have a minimum of one year of documented custodial, non-skilled or skilled medical experience (military medic, CNA, LPN, or even non-skilled experience with elderly persons and/or persons with medical or behavioral needs) to provide companionship to seniors who wish to remain independent in the comfort of their homes. As Cadence Companions is a veteran-owned company, and all co-founders have close ties to the military and/or veterans, we are dedicated to honoring and caring for Military Veterans in our community.  We also place a priority on hiring honorably discharged military veterans, current national guardsmen and reservists as Companions. Currently, we are actively seeking male Companions for our male clients, though anyone interested in delivering quality care is encouraged to apply.
