As the population of our elders grows, memory issues related to senility (normal aging) or dementia (from disease) are also growing.  Memory impairment, including dementia, may cause disorientation, restlessness, forgetfulness, speech impairment, feeding and swallowing issues, neglect of personal hygiene or meals, depression, agitation, and even hallucinations.  Structure, familiarity and reinforcement of remaining memories is crucial for persons who are affected, and are included in our care for those with memory impairment. Cadence Companions also consults with specialists in this area.
